Life in Florence

I look like a college Biology professor right???  My hair is a twist out.  I conditioned and detangled with Suave.  I next rinsed, towel dried (I simply wrapped a towel around my hair turban style), and then twisted.  I twisted using Cantu Shea Butter leave-in and then Flax seed gel on top.  I had about 20 twists and flat twisted eat twist at the roots.  That's it!!!

I know I've been MIA for a bit, but life has been a bit overwhelming lately.  However, things are starting to calm down (sort of), and I'm back.  So...life in Florence.  As most of you know I recently made the big move from Columbia SC to Florence SC.  I have to say, I was not excited about the idea of living in Florence (although I was quite excited about my new job).  Much to my surprise, I like it here.  I mean don't get me wrong, it isn't utopia here or anything, but Florence is actually quite a nice town.  The town is pretty small, but has everything you need (Wal-Mart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Krispy Kreme, an Indian and two Thai restaurants) and a good bit of what you want (movie theaters, bowling alleys, parks, Belk, The Vitamin Shoppe).  Also, the people here are quite friendly, which is always much appreciated.  I also like the feeling of living on the coast.  Florence is about an hour from the beach, but it still has a coastal feel to it.  Can we say beach time!!!!!!  I still have yet to really meet people outside of work, but that's fine for now I suppose.  The department I work in at FMU is very collegial.  I've actually had plans at least one night every weekend since I've been here thanks to the many gatherings of my co-workers.  The weather has been a bit, uck.  It's rained more days than not since I moved, and it's often cloudy when it's not raining.  However, all these dreary days make the sunny ones SO greatly appreciated!!!  You don't realize how wonderful sunshine is until you don't get to see it all the time (guess that was a little secret life lesson God worked in for me ;-).

On to my hair......so my hair has been doing quite well lately.  I've been wearing twist outs mostly, and am really enjoying it.  I also did a conditioner test (guess I just can't get away from science), and decided that the conditioner used matters less than the technique used to wash.  I'll have to write a post about that later...stay tuned :-)

So, in summary, I overall really like Florence, am loving my hair, and just waiting for and expecting the great things that God has planned for me at this point in my life!

Have a great weekend!
