I am here to tell you about a wonderful invention called Rose Water. Rose water is exactly what it sounds like, water infused with rose extract. I use Rose Water at night when I braid or twist my hair. On most nights I only use Rose Water, but when the hair is a little rough/dry I use Rose Water with a bit of leave in (Beautiful Curls). To use Rose Water, I put it into an empty spray bottle. Next, I spritz a bit on, just enough to know that I have something on my hair, but not enough to soak it (a half dried braid-out =frizz) and then braid or twist. Some times I put a few drops of Peppermint Essential Oil and Rosemary Essential Oil. I LOVE Rose Water, when I wake in the morning I unbraid, put a bit of oil on and go. Rose Water leaves my hair really soft and shiny. I buy Rose Water from my local Indian grocery store and it's mega cheap (~$3 for 8oz.). I use Rose Water maybe 3-4 times a week, so the bottle lasts pretty well.
Well, that's all I have for now lovely people. Tootles.
Love, peace and happiness
This blog is awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling me about Rose Water! I've only used it a couple of times, but so far so good! I'm just still a little undecided on whether I trust it alone for a twist/braid out. I currently use a styling product with it, but maybe I'll experiment one weekend with just the rose water. Also, do you find it be slightly sticky when you are applying it? Or is that just my styling product residue? Either way, so far it has been a great addition to my hair care collection! :-)
ReplyDeleteOn another note, where do you buy your peppermint and rosemary oils?
Hey there Bre Nichelle,
ReplyDeleteI get my essential oils from Rosewood Supermarket. I have never really shopped around to see if they have good prices, but they do have a nice selection.
Hope that's helpful,
Tootles,
Shayna
PS-Bre Nichelle sounds like a famous name, are you famous? ;-)
