Me having fun on my couch. My hair is an old twist out. I used my usual products of Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner to co-wash and Cantu Shea Butter Leave In to twist with. |
Hello there lovelies~
Today marks my two year anniversary since the last time I straightened my hair. I have thought about straightening my hair a couple of times since then in order to trim or for something a little different, but I am glad that I didn't. I love my hair and am so happy to be able to embrace what God gave me. As is the case with anniversaries, I think that this is a good time to reflect. So, I think that I will mention my favorite thing thus far about being natural. Hmmm.....this is tough. No more scalp burns (just one of many of course).
What is your favorite thing or things about being natural?
Tootles for now.......
I think one of my most favorite (and sometimes frustrating) things about being natural is really getting to know my hair.
ReplyDeleteI agree. After I first started wearing my hair natural I was amazed at how much I didn't know about what to do with my hair. Then I realized, until I went natural I had never had to do anything with my natural hair. I got a relaxer when I was 8 and before that my mother always did my hair. Fortunately, over the past 6 years I have quickly learned a lot. I feel like I am much better now at "listening" to my hair, and just doing what needs to be done opposed to what I think I should do. It seems that when you just do what your hair needs when it needs, a routine eventually lays itself out.
DeleteHappy hair journey to you and thanks for the thoughtful comment!
