itty bitty dry twists

my hair all blown out before I twisted it

lots of little twists

Me looking goofy with my twists, that's quite a smile huh

Hey there peoples,

So one day I got the brilliant idea to put my hair into itty bitty twists.  I had a busy couple of weeks coming up with lab experiments, and didn't want to neglect my hair.  So, one Sunday, I did my usual deep condition, and then I blow dried my hair.  The only thing I put on my hair before blow drying was Silk Elements heat Protection Spray (in the green bottle).  Once my hair was blow dried I began twisting.  The twists came out nice and I liked them.  However, they only lasted for about a week, and I was hoping for two to three weeks.  As is the usual thing, they began to frizz and I didn't like that.  I think that if I were to do this style again (which I have no intentions of, and I'll tell you why in a min) I would use some gel on my hair to hopefully cut down on the frizz.  Actually, the frizz didn't come until after I washed.  I washed my hair while it was braided (so I braided the twists into about 6-8 braids).  Then I left the braids in over night.  The results were actually pretty nice, wavy twists, but then after a day or so they began to frizz.

So the style was nice for temporary wear, but it was a bit of work for only a week worth of wear.  I think total I spent about 5 hours doing my hair AFTER I finished deep conditioning, yeah, it was def an all day process.  Then came take out time.  Now, I'm pretty sure I have undiagnosed ADD, so sitting still and loosing the twists was painful for me, which is probably the primary reason I wouldn't want them again.

So, overall, a nice option if you don't mind spending the time for putting in and taking out.  Also, if anyone were to try this I would recommend putting some gel on your hair, to hold the frizzies down a bit.  If I were to do this style again, I would also blow dry my hair a bit less so that my hair is damp when I twist.  Having my hair pretty well blown out made the ends a little loose.  But they didn't come out, I was just concerned that they would.  I'm sure that this style could last 2-3 weeks if proper care is taken of it.

Well, I think that's all for that.  Let me know your experiences with itty bitty twists or braids.
Tootles,
Love, peace, and happiness :-)
